Our Commitment to Accurate Health Information

Editorial Standards

At CalcVita, we are committed to providing accurate, transparent, and evidence-based health information. Millions of users across six languages rely on our calculators and resources to make informed decisions about their wellbeing, and we take that responsibility seriously. Every piece of content we publish — whether a calculator, an educational article, or a clinical reference — must meet strict standards of scientific accuracy, clarity, and impartiality before it reaches our audience. Our editorial team operates independently of any commercial interests, and our sole mission is to empower people with trustworthy health tools they can use at every stage of life.

Medical Review Process

All health calculators and articles published on CalcVita undergo external medical review conducted by Dr. Ivan Ibáñez (Licence No. 17/05487), a specialist in anti-aging and longevity medicine. Our review cycle comprises three stages: initial clinical review before publication, periodic re-review to ensure continued accuracy as scientific understanding evolves, and ad-hoc updates whenever new evidence emerges that may affect a calculator or article. Dr. Ibáñez evaluates the clinical validity of our formulas, the appropriateness of reference ranges, and the clarity of the health guidance we provide. This independent medical oversight is a cornerstone of our commitment to quality.

Sources & Evidence Base

Our calculators are built on published, peer-reviewed scientific formulas and authoritative datasets. For example, our TDEE calculator implements the Mifflin-St Jeor equation; our child height predictor uses the Khamis-Roche method; our paediatric growth tools rely on WHO Child Growth Standards; and our lipedema screening calculator applies the Wold criteria. Articles include inline citations to primary sources such as PubMed, the World Health Organization (WHO), the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), and other recognised medical authorities. We prioritise meta-analyses, systematic reviews, and guidelines issued by established health institutions.

Content Creation Process

Our content development follows a rigorous pipeline. It begins with a research phase, in which our team conducts a comprehensive literature review to identify the most validated formulas and clinical guidelines for the topic at hand. During the development phase, engineers implement the calculator logic with accompanying unit tests to verify mathematical accuracy across edge cases. The content then enters medical review, where Dr. Ibáñez assesses the clinical soundness of the implementation. Only after passing all stages does the content proceed to publication. Post-launch, we actively monitor user feedback and scientific literature for any issues or updates that may require revision.

Content Updates & Accuracy

Health science is not static, and neither is our content. We continuously monitor peer-reviewed journals, updated WHO guidelines, and relevant clinical publications to identify changes that may affect the accuracy of our calculators or articles. When evidence warrants a revision, our team updates the affected content, revalidates unit tests, and submits it for a fresh medical review. Every page displays its last-updated date, providing full transparency to our users. We maintain internal version history so that changes are traceable and auditable.

Independence & Conflicts of Interest

CalcVita operates with full editorial independence. We have no pharmaceutical affiliations, no sponsored health content, and no financial relationships that could influence our calculators, recommendations, or editorial decisions. When advertising is displayed on our site, it is clearly separated from editorial content and has no bearing on the health information we provide. Our revenue model never compromises the objectivity of our tools or the trust our users place in us.

Corrections & Contact

Accuracy is a shared responsibility. If you identify an error, find outdated information, or have concerns about any of our content, we encourage you to reach out at [email protected]. Our editorial team investigates every report and, when appropriate, publishes corrections promptly. This page itself serves as our transparency commitment — a pledge that the health information on CalcVita is developed, reviewed, and maintained with the highest standards of scientific rigour.
